Witness the Blue Angels’ Flight Demonstration
From the end of March through October, the U.S. Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron, the world-famous Blue Angels, practice in the skies of their home base of Pensacola. The practices are typically scheduled at 10:30 a.m on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, taking off from Pensacola Naval Air Station, near the National Naval Aviation Museum.
The Blue Angels fly over the waters of Pensacola Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, offering an excellent view to boaters. Two public (or private when available) options available: On the Jolly Explorer, (up to 28 guests) our 42′ tritoon, the boat may stop at Sand Island (a 40-foot sand dune island), a great spot for Blues practice viewing. Beach stop is typically on the agenda, dependent on tides and conditions. Aboard Jolly Dolphin, our 40′ dolphin cruise vessel, (up to 38 guests), the boat will post up in the water across from Naval Air Station, the Blues departure point, to watch the practice from the boat. We also offer private or semi private cruises on one of our 6 passenger tritoons, Jolly Roger or Jolly’Ventures, both of which usually beach up at Sand Island for practice viewing. If you’ve never seen a Blue Angels show performance, here’s your chance.
Skip the crowds and the drive across town when you join us for a unique view of the show. Blues cruises depart at 9:30 a.m. and are about three hours long. Along the way, we look for dolphins and other wildlife.
